Recent research indicates that compounds featuring low-valent and -coordinate main-group element centers display high reactivity, enabling them to mimic transition metals in interacting with inert small molecules such as CO, C₂H₄, or H₂. Research in our group is focused on low-valent main-group element chemistry, with the following aims:

1) Designing and synthesizing highly reactive main-group compounds in low-valent states and examining their reactivity.

2) Synthesizing novel transition metal complexes supported by low-valent main-group elements and investigating their reactivity.
